Eligibility:

Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.

Age: The candidates must not be less than 20 years and not more than 27 years. Upper Age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and d by 3 years for OBC candidates of West Bengal only. Upper age limit is also relaxable upto 35 years for departmental candidates of West Bengal Police having requisite qualification.

Educational Qualification:  A degree of a recognized university or its equivalent.

Minimum Physical Standard:

Sub-Inspector of Police [Unarmed Branch (UB) in West Bengal Police] Candidates of all categories (except Gorkhas, Rajbanshis, Garwalis and Scheduled Tribes) 167 cm 79 cm. with a minimum expansion of 5 cm 56 kg
Gorkhas, Rajbanshis, Garwalis and Scheduled Tribes 160 cm 76 cm. with a minimum expansion of 5 cm 52 kg
Sub-Inspector of Police [Armed Branch (AB) in West Bengal Police] Candidates of all categories (except Gorkhas, Rajbanshis, Garwalis and Scheduled Tribes) 173 cm 86 cm. with a minimum expansion of 5 cm 60 kg
Gorkhas, Rajbanshis, Garwalis and Scheduled Tribes 163 cm 81 cm. with a minimum expansion of 5 cm 54 kg

Must qualify the following Physical Efficiency Tests:
