Subject: Filling up of the post of Member (Judicial) and Member (Technical) in Cyber Appellate Tribunal ( CAT ) at New Delhi
Department of information technology is inviting applications from the Indian citizens for the posts of Member (Technical) & Member Judicial). It is proposed to fill up the said post as per provisions of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008. The eligibility, term of office, salary & allowances and other conditions of service etc. for the post of Members of the Tribunal are given below:

Qualification:
Member (Technical) : The Technical Member of the Cyber Appellate Tribunal shall be appointed by the Central Government from amongst persons, having special knowledge and professional experience in information technology, telecommunication, industry, management or consumer affairs. Provided that a person shall not be appointed as a member unless he is or has been in the service of the Central Government or a state Government and has held the post of Additional Secretary or any equivalent post for a period of not less than one year or Joint Secretary or any equivalent post for a period of not less than seven years”.
Member (Judicial) : The Judicial Member of the Cyber Appellate Tribunal shall be appointed by Central Government from amongst persons who is or has been a member of the Indian Legal Service and has held the post of Addl. Secretary for a period of not less than one year or Grade I post of that Service for a period of not less than 5 years”.
Term of Office:
The Member (s) of the Cyber Regulations Appellate Tribunal shall hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of sixty-five (65) years, whichever is earlier.
