Elite Dangerous maintenance has landed, and nlike clockwork the servers are offline right now as Frontier gears up for their big Vanguards release. If you’re wondering where your next hyperspace jump has disappeared to, the outage started as scheduled at 7 am UTC and it’s expected to stretch for at least seven hours, so maybe grab a coffee and pretend to clean your ship’s dashboard for a bit.
The devs sent out the usual alerts, promising update notes soon and urging everyone to keep an eye on their social feeds for the latest news. Elite Dangerous (@EliteDangerous) announced on Twitter that servers will go offline from 7 a.m. UTC to prepare for the release of Vanguards.
It’s always a bit of a patience game; plenty of regulars have started swapping tales of past downtimes in Discord, like that one time maintenance ran long and a trader missed out on a precious cargo run by literal minutes. Not that anyone holds a grudge, this sort of behind-the-scenes work keeps the galaxy ticking, after all.
