If you pick the Deluxe Edition instead, there’s extra gear. The Akademy Blade and Tunic, Beret, and a ring that boosts experience. There’s no upgrade path yet—if you buy Standard first, you need to buy Deluxe separately later if you want extra gear.
Players expect Square Enix might add more gear or DLC bonuses later, maybe as paid packs. Some expect job costumes and old music tracks. But nothing’s confirmed there yet. A lot of fans just hope any bonus items don’t break early game balance. Most agree, it’s nice but not essential.
