Fortnite Update 37.10: Release Time, Maintenance & Patch Notes

Fortnite’s first big patch of the new season lands today, sparking the usual flurry of anticipation, downtime grumbling, and late-night speculation on social feeds. If you’ve got “patch day” circled in your planner, here’s the lowdown on when to expect the updates, what’s actually changing, and a few thoughts from inside the Fortnite grind.

Fortnite Patch Notes Release Time

The Fortnite 37.10 update goes live August 26, with official downtime beginning at 9am BST (that’s 4am EDT / 1am PDT for the US crowd). Matchmaking closes about half an hour before the patch kicks off, so don’t get stuck mid-game—Epic pulls the plug pretty promptly.

Expect servers to stay down for around two to three hours, give or take, which means you should be back in action by lunchtime in the UK or mid-morning in the States. If you’re not new to the game, you know this is peak time for status-refreshing, Discord rants, and wild guesses about skin leaks.

Personally, downtime is the perfect excuse for a snack run or to briefly experience sunlight. If you’re like me, you’ll find yourself double-checking Twitter for any news that Epic might finish early (they rarely do). At least they give us a heads-up.

Maintenance & What’s New

So, what’s on the table for 37.10? You’re getting fresh gameplay features and a batch of bug fixes—some of which the community has been begging for.

Big Additions

  • Air Strike item: Call down a massive explosion on rival players—expect lots of chaos in Battle Royale matches.

  • Gorillaz join Fortnite Festival: The legendary band steps in as new icons for Festival Season 10, bringing some style and fresh tunes.

  • One Punch Man crossover: The anime collab goes live, bringing new skins and emotes that should keep fans happy.

Important Fixes & Tweaks

Here’s the short-and-sweet, straight from Epic and leaker feeds:

  • NVIDIA graphics card crashes (DirectX 11) addressed.

  • Bunkers missing terrain—should be fixed, so no more falling through the map by accident.

  • “Squad, No Fill” mode default bug that auto-places everyone there—hopefully gone.

  • Red dot gunfire indicators will be restored soon (no more blind sprints into firefights).

  • Minigun wraps and recoil on Leadspitter 3000 tweaked.

  • Medallions vaulted, new launcher variant coming next week.

  • Shockwave Launchers nixed; exotic variant due soon.

  • Rocket ammo, Epic/Legendary items now harder to snag. Rumor is those greedy bugs are hoarding loot again.

If you play OG or Blitz modes, you’ll find extra love for in-demand fixes, plus clues about future events dropping after the patch—like that Cube-themed event kicking off in Chapter 1, Season 5 OG on August 28.

Mobile & App Notes

Sometimes Fortnite Mobile likes to toss curveballs. The update targets:

  • Sidebar exit causing infinite “Connecting” screen—shouldn’t trap you anymore.

  • Auto Fire bug—aim at baddies and it actually works now.
