New World Aeternum Maintenance
Maintenance is a regular thing with live MMOs like New World: Aeternum. This time, servers went down late on July 31 for just over an hour, as shared by @NWGameStatus: “Upcoming Maintenance. Downtime will begin on 7/31 at 11 PM PT and last approximately 1.5 hours”. It’s routine, but every patch comes with a short window of locked doors and downtime.
How Long is New World Aeternum Maintenance?
A lot of players stress about how long these downtimes will take. This round was scheduled for 1.5 hours. Average maintenance duration for New World: Aeternum falls typically around 1.5 hours, with some rare delays. Don’t plan big session raids right as the window ends, but in almost every instance, things are back up around the predicted time.
New World Aeternum Server Status
As of August 1, all servers are back online and stable after the latest patch. If you want to double-check your server, Head directly to the official server status page, which breaks down every region and server’s live/maintenance status in real time.
What Are the Updates?
If you missed the patch notes, this one's not a giant sweeping update, but it zeroes in on some quirks that have been bugging the player base:
-
Fixed the level requirement for Capture the Flag, which was previously at 65—instead of the intended 60—locking out some players. Now everyone back at level 60 can jump in.
-
Re-enabled Healing Tomb after a bug fix involving Ice Pylon, so healers who missed the synergy are no longer left out.
-
Squashed a shader cache pop-up error that some players were seeing, aiming for a smoother boot-up.
-
Added Faction Fest skins to the Faction Shop, so expect to see new looks rolling through settlements.
These fixes may sound niche, but if you were snagged by any of them, it’s a big difference in game flow.
