Arc Raiders Update 1.7.0 Patch Notes
Arc Raiders update 1.7.0 is a big Winter patch that drops the Cold Snap stuff, some new toys, and a lot of quality fixes. It feels like a clean up patch that also gives you more control over builds and gameplay style.
The Cold Snap map condition is the big flavor change. You get harsh winter storms that shake things up while you roam, with the Flickering Flames event layered in to push you into more tense fights. There are new quests and items tied to this update so the game does not just feel like the same loop with snow slapped on it. A free Raider Deck called Goalie is also coming in during the update window which gives more variety in how you set up your character.
On the systems side the patch gives you more freedom to fix bad choices. You can now reset your Skill Tree, though it costs Coins for each point, so it is not something you spam but it lets you recover from a build you hate. The Wallet now shows a Cred soft cap at 800 so you see exactly when you are wasting grind. That cap is there so people do not stockpile forever then instant unlock whole Raider Decks in one go. There is also Raider Tool customization so your tools feel more like part of your build, not just fixed gadgets.
Aiming and feel get some overdue tweaks. You can toggle Aim Down Sights now instead of holding the button which is nice if you play on pad or just prefer that style. There is a new Cinematic graphics preset for strong PCs so the game can look cleaner if your rig can handle it. Achievements are turned on for Epic Games Store players so your runs actually pop cheevos there now.
Maps and spawns get a lot of quiet fixes that you only notice after a few sessions. Stella Montis spawn distance is improved so players do not appear right on top of each other as often. The Aphelion blueprint no longer drops from the Matriarch and now comes from Stella Montis which should spread people out a bit. Security Lockers now spawn across all maps and there are many small collision, geometry, loot spawn, and hatch fixes so you get stuck less and lose fewer drops to weird terrain. Electromagnetic Storm lightning can even leave behind loot now so the environment is not only a threat.
Enemies and guns are tuned too. The Shredder is nastier as it moves and reacts faster and its head is tankier so you cannot cheese it as easily, and it gets into combat quicker with better pathing. Light ARC units now take a bit of knockback from melee which gives close range hits more feedback. The Bettina gets a durability burn reduction, a slightly bigger mag, and a faster reload so it does not feel like it breaks the moment you use it. There are also fixes for energy weapon reload exploits and some shotgun fire rate abuse, plus a small quality tweak where ADS resumes correctly after things like reloads or stuns.
The rest of the patch is a pile of bug fixes that smooth out the experience. Crash issues get some love especially for AMD users, reconnect spawns are less cursed, and stuff like zipline prompts, HUD markers, input hints, Codex tracking, and interaction icons all behave more reliably. Utility rooms with Epic key cards now feel more worth the effort since loot value is higher, blueprint spawn spots are expanded, and some old deployable and damage exploits are gone. On top of that the update drops some festive items and small vibe tweaks for the season so the game feels a bit more alive while you grind through the new Winter chaos.
Arc Raiders Update 1.7.0 Patch Notes
Bettina
These changes reduce Bettina’s reliance on a secondary weapon and make it more reliable in PVP, while keeping its strong PVE identity intact. Durability has also been brought closer in line with other assault rifles in the Arc Raiders snow Winter update.
- Durability burn rate reduced from ~0.43 percent to ~0.17 percent per shot
- Previously took around 12 full magazines to break
- Now takes roughly 26 magazines, accounting for the larger mag size
- Base magazine size increased from 20 to 22
- Base reload time reduced from 5 seconds to 4.5 seconds
Rattler
The Rattler is not meant to outshine the Stitcher or Kettle at close range, but this small buff helps narrow its early-level PVP time-to-kill while keeping its deliberate, cover-focused playstyle.
- Base magazine size increased from 10 to 12
- Arc Raiders Update 1.7.0 ARC Enemies Changes
