Are Grace Adams Short and Mikey Dalton Still Together?
Yep, you heard right: Grace Adams-Short and Mikey Dalton, the sweethearts who met on Big Brother nearly two decades ago, are still going strong! If you were a fan of the 2006 series (yes, the one with Nikki Grahame and Pete Bennett causing all sorts of chaos in the house), you probably remember watching Grace and Mikey’s romance unfold in real time. Who would’ve thought after all those summer nights, diary room chats, and, let’s be honest, a bit of reality TV madness, these two would be the last couple standing from the whole UK Big Brother franchise? Grace (now 39) and Mikey (42) connected on BB6 way back in 2006. Romance on a reality show? Cliche, sure, but in their case, it was the real deal. They got engaged just four months after the series wrapped (speedy much?), tied the knot in 2009, and now have a bustling brood: Georgiana (13), Spencer (10), Allegra (6), and their latest addition, little Atticus, born in January 2022. Life hasn’t exactly slowed down. Despite being the only Big Brother couple to make it for the long haul (honestly, that’s wild considering how many showmances have fizzled out before the finale), they’re still figuring out how to balance family chaos. Four kids will do that to you!
Grace gets candid about their journey. She’s joked about “cringing” when watching old reruns of their time on BB6, who wouldn’t, after all those eyebrow-raising moments and “panto boos” from the crowd? Grace freely admits she “never played a game” in the house and owns up to being, well, a bit much at times, but she also credits the show for giving her and Mikey a start in life and even letting her buy her first London flat at just 20.
Mikey, for his part, says he still finds Grace just as gorgeous as the day he met her—probably a bit of smooth husband points there! But they both admit juggling careers (Grace sold her performing arts academy for millions, casually), school runs, and bath time means “finding couple time” is a major work in progress.
So, what’s their secret? According to Grace, they “still bounce off each other like we did on day one.” Sure, they drive each other mad sometimes show me a couple with four kids who don’t! But in the end, they’re best mates at heart. Grace calls Mikey her “partner in adventure”; Mikey says she “hasn’t aged a day.” It’s sort of annoyingly sweet, isn’t it? They plan to show their kids old episodes of the show so they can “see where mummy and daddy fell in love.” After all these years, they’re still besotted, and if you ask them, credit goes to Big Brother for that one-of-a-kind holiday romance that somehow turned into a life.
