Braelon Allen Injury Update: Knee Issue Forces Early Exit Against Dolphins

Braelon Allen Injury Update

Braelon Allen left the Jets' game against the Dolphins with a left knee injury. The injury happened during the second quarter on a kickoff return. He went down after a defender hit the side of his knee. The knee bent the wrong way. He stayed on the ground for a bit before getting up and walking to the medical tent. Soon after that, he moved to the locker room and was ruled out for the rest of the night.

He had started the game well. Allen ran four times for 26 yards. But he lost a fumble at the goal line before the injury. That mistake clearly weighed on him. He spent time alone on the sideline, looking upset, before hurting his knee.

Look at the video of how Braelon Allen got injured. Larry Foster posted the video and mentioned that it looks like an MCL injury.

The team has not shared any detailed news about the injury. The only update is that it's a knee issue and Allen could not return. The Jets will wait for more tests before saying how serious it is or how long he might miss games. For now, he is listed as out.

This is a setback for the Jets’ running backs. Allen had started the year as a backup to Breece Hall. He had appeared in all games before this injury and had shown some promise as a power runner.

For this season, Allen’s numbers so far: 14 carries, 50 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown. He also had two catches for 17 yards. His average is 3.6 yards per carry.

Allen was also used as a kick returner. Before the game, he had three kick returns for 76 yards. His role for the Jets this year was as a short-yardage back behind Hall. Now, with Allen hurt, Isaiah Davis is expected to get more snaps in his place.

The team needs more depth now. Allen’s health and future status remain unclear. More details should come after scans and medical reports.

Allen is only twenty one. The team will hope this injury is not long term. But for now, he is out and waiting for a fuller update.
