Calvin Austin Injury Update
Calvin Austin hurt his shoulder in the Steelers win over the Vikings in Dublin. He left the field in an ambulance, because the stadium doesn’t do x-rays. Austin got checked at a hospital after the game. He later posted that he’s “all good,” thanking fans for their concern.
He was wearing a sling when he left, so it seems like the pain was real. No news from the team yet about how long he’ll be out. The Steelers now have a bye week, so there’s time before the next game. Some reports say he might miss “several games,” not just one, but it’s not totally clear yet.
Austin is the second wide receiver for the Steelers. The injury makes the depth chart thinner. The team has DK Metcalf, Roman Wilson, Ben Skowronek and Scotty Miller. People are wondering if Pittsburgh will bring in a new receiver if Austin is out for a while.
This season, Austin has 10 catches. He’s gained 139 yards. He’s scored two touchdowns. He averages about 14 yards a catch. Last season, he had 36 catches for 548 yards and four touchdowns. He’s fast and usually plays in the slot or three-wide sets.
For now, Austin says he’s okay. He’s getting more tests. The team should give more details soon. People hope he’s back after the bye, but some sources expect him to miss some weeks.
Calvin Austin shared an update on the injury with his own post on X.
