Chris Wood Injury Update

Nottingham Forest fans are holding their breath over Chris Wood's knee injury, which has sidelined the New Zealand captain since the October international break. The 33-year-old powerhouse, who banged in 20 Premier League goals last season to keep Forest afloat, hyperextended his knee during All Whites duty against Norway. It forced him out of the recent 0-2 home loss to Manchester United on November 2, where Forest's attack looked toothless, extending their goalless run to 461 minutes across all competitions.

Manager Sean Dyche (yes, that's the latest on the touchline after a managerial merry-go-round) dropped a mixed bag in his pre-Man Utd presser: "Woody's going to be possible for the Leeds United game, but won’t make this one. We'll have to see how that goes." As of November 6, Wood's been grinding through rehab at the Nigel Doughty Academy, focusing on strengthening and mobility drills. No tears or major damage reported, which is a relief. Scans confirmed it's more of a nagging soreness than a season-ender.

Injury Expert, posting on X via @PremierInjuries, provided an #FPL Update: Chris Wood of #NFFC has a knee injury, with an expected return date of 09-11-2025.

Wood is expected for Sunday's Premier League clash against Leeds United at the City Ground (Nov 9, kick-off 2 PM GMT). He's ruled out of New Zealand's upcoming friendlies vs Colombia and Ecuador, too.
