Daron Bland Injury Update
Daron Bland is dealing with another serious foot injury for the Dallas Cowboys. It is his left foot again which already needed surgery in August 2024 for a stress fracture.
This new injury showed up after the Week 15 loss when he appeared on the report with a foot issue and then missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday.
Reports say he is facing the possibility of surgery on that same left foot for the second straight year. Right now no surgery has been officially scheduled because he is getting a second opinion from another specialist.
Even so most reports say his season is probably over with only three games left on the schedule. The team expects that he will likely land on injured reserve whether he has surgery or not.
He has not practiced at all this week which matches that expectation. This comes after a rough stretch of foot problems for him over two seasons.
He missed the first ten games of 2024 after surgery on the fifth metatarsal in his left foot. Earlier in the 2025 season he already sat out two games with a bruise to his right foot.
Before this season the Cowboys gave Bland a four year extension worth about 92 million dollars with 50 million guaranteed. He earned that deal after an All Pro level year where he set an NFL record with five pick sixes in one season.
In 2025 before this latest injury he played 12 games. He recorded around mid 40s in tackles along with multiple pass breakups and one interception returned for a touchdown.
His absence is a big hit for a Dallas secondary already dealing with the long term situation around Trevon Diggs.
With the Cowboys on the edge of playoff elimination the timing makes the blow even harder for the team.
