DJ Moore Injury Update
Monday night’s win over the Commanders should’ve been all cheers for Chicago Bears fans, but it ended with that knot-in-your-stomach kind of worry when DJ Moore got hurt. It was late in the fourth quarter, Moore was going for a tough contested catch near the sideline, and then bam, he takes a hard shot to the midsection.
Next thing you know, he’s clutching his side, limping off while teammates hover around, and the medical staff waves for a stretcher and calls an ambulance. Not exactly the kind of scene you want to see after a nail-biting 20–17 victory. A tweet from @UnderdogNFL on X, DJ Moore will remain overnight in the DC area for precautionary medical attention after leaving the stadium in an ambulance following the game.
Moore was carted off and taken straight to a hospital in Washington, D.C., and while that sounds terrifying, the Bears say it’s a precautionary move. No one’s talking about a diagnosis yet, no recovery timeline, no treatment plan, which of course means fans are refreshing social media every five seconds for news.
ESPN’s Courtney Cronin says he’ll stay overnight, and apparently, receivers coach Antwaan Randle-El even rode along with him in the ambulance while the team flew back to Chicago. As reported by @CourtneyRCronin on X, DJ Moore was transported from Northwest Stadium in an ambulance to a nearby hospital for precautionary medical evaluation following the game.
Those kinds of details hit different because you know this squad cares about their guy. On the brighter side, teammates said Moore was alert in the locker room, even cracking jokes before heading out, which makes it feel like we might be looking at more of a “better safe than sorry” situation rather than something career-altering.
Still, social media lit up some folks sending heartfelt “get well soon” messages, others nervously wondering what this means for the season, and of course, a few memes trying to make light of it all. For now, the only thing to do is wait and hope the next update is one of those “all clear” kind of reports, because losing DJ Moore, even temporarily, would be a gut punch for the Bears.
