DJI Osmo Nano Camera: The Tiny Action Camera That Packs a Punch

DJI Osmo Nano Camera

The DJI Osmo Nano is, in plain words, a ridiculously small, featherweight action camera meant to vanish on your cap, lapel, bike—or even your dog, if the dog is up for it. This thing weighs about 52 grams (no, really, lighter than a single bar of chocolate), and somehow doesn’t feel like a toy.

I remember the first time I clicked the magnetic mount onto my backpack—it felt surreal, a tad sci-fi. Not only does the camera shoot crisp 4K videos (even 120fps for those slow-mo “wow, did I just do that?” moments), but the wide 143° field of view means it catches more of the world than my own eyes can. It even has fancy 10-bit colors, so the skies look at least as blue as they do when I forget my sunglasses.

  • 1/1.3-inch sensor—this is big news for low-light or weirdly lit cafés.
  • Waterproof? Yes, up to 10m. My rain-soaked bike rides are now YouTube content instead of just wet misery.
  • It can shoot 35-megapixel stills. That’s more megapixels than most phones brag about.
  • It works with DJI’s wireless microphones, so your voiceovers don’t sound like muffled pillow talk.

DJI Osmo Nano Release Date

DJI launched the Osmo Nano globally in late September 2025, right as the world was busy arguing about the right season for action cameras. If you’re in the US, UK, or bits of Europe, you could buy it pretty much right away.

I got roped into helping a friend’s cycling vlog the weekend it dropped and, by sheer luck, the camera arrived just the day before. You never realize how fun group rides look until you have a genuine first-person view of someone missing a pothole by a centimeter.

No news yet on exactly when it’ll officially land in Indian stores, but considering DJI’s love for worldwide launches, it shouldn’t be too long before it shows up in local shops or the usual online haunts.

DJI Osmo Nano Price in India

Here’s where things get a bit “watch this space,” but let’s do some number crunching. Globally, the Osmo Nano’s official price sits at around EUR 279 (about Rs. 29,000) for the 64GB variant, and EUR 309 (roughly Rs. 32,000) for the 128GB version. In the US, it’s $299 and $329 for the two options—if you want to squint at exchange rates.

  • 64GB: Rs. 29,000 (approx)
  • 128GB: Rs. 32,000 (approx)

These are for the standard “combo” which, by the way, is not code for “just the camera.” DJI throws in the multifunctional Vision Dock (wireless monitor, fast charger, remote control), plus a tangle of magnetic clips and a protective case.

Is it cheap? Not especially—but cheaper than many full-size action cams that’ll never fit behind your sunglass lens or under a helmet visor. For the price, you’re essentially paying for the absolute thrill of saying, “Wait—where did I put my camera? Oh, right. I’m wearing it.”

DJI Osmo Nano Features

DJI went all-out on features that matter, and skimped anywhere they could to make this thing tiny (and maybe just a tad adorable).

  • RockSteady 3.0 stabilization: Even on a mountain trail or during a very caffeinated city run, the footage doesn’t look like it was filmed inside a washing machine.
  • SuperNight mode: Normally, nighttime action cams make everything look like a bad CCTV crime replay. Here? Solid performance—actual nightlife vibes.
  • Battery life nirvana: 200 minutes recording time (in lower-res) with the dock, fast-charging to 80% in 20 minutes. I genuinely didn’t expect to outlast the battery on a single day trip, but I almost did.
  • Magnetic mounts: Not kidding—hat, shirt, bike handlebars, car dashboard... Even tried sticking it to my fridge out of boredom.
  • 143° POV: Super immersive. Great for action, but also for capturing those “my friends are doing weird things in the background” moments.

And if you love post-production, 10-bit D-Log M support makes for dramatic color grading and professional flexibility; handy if you want your weekend trek to look like a National Geographic special.

Everyday Use (and Small Gripes)

  • After a week of toying around, here’s what stands out:
  • The Vision Dock is genius for checking framing while in action, but not waterproof—so don’t drop it in the pool.
  • Mounting is easy, but don’t try it on a silk shirt; magnet plus gravity equals “ouch” (and some funky footage).
  • Internal storage is generous, but if you’re one of those “record everything, always” folks, you’ll need a microSD in the dock for long shooting days.
