Fluff Bothwell Injury Update
Fluff Bothwell, Mississippi State’s top running back, got hurt late in the game against Texas A&M. He went down after a tackle and his leg bent the wrong way. Trainers brought out the cart and took him off the field. People say it looked serious. Right after, he went in for x-rays. No official update from the team yet, even days later. Coach Jeff Lebby says he’s waiting for more info, but everyone is expecting bad news.
Bothwell wasn’t supposed to be out there with the game already lost. Fans are upset he was playing so late. His injury happened on a checkdown play with no chance for a comeback. The offense was struggling all night anyway. They’re on a bye week now, so there’s time to see how things go. But there’s no sign he’ll be back soon.
Before this injury, Bothwell had been the best part of their offense. He has run for 465 yards with six touchdowns. Losing him puts the team in a tough spot. The Bulldogs already had injuries on their offensive line. Quarterback Blake Shapen has been getting hit a lot. If Bothwell misses more games, they’ll need to find a replacement quick, maybe a freshman or a backup like Kamario Taylor. But nobody matches Bothwell’s speed and skill.
The team isn’t talking about exact details. Most reports say it’s his lower leg or knee. Watching the game, lots of folks thought it was season-ending. Until the team says more, nobody knows for sure. But it’s clear Mississippi State might be without their best playmaker for a while.
The coaches will have to change things on offense and hope someone steps up. Everyone just wants to hear something positive, but for now, the news isn’t looking good for Bothwell or the Bulldogs.
