Freaky Tales OTT Release Date
Freaky Tales is set to make its streaming debut on HBO Max (now known as Max) in the United States starting August 8, 2025. The film will also air on traditional television channels with a broadcast on HBO TV scheduled for August 9, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET. Previously, it hit theaters on April 4, 2025, and was made available for digital rental and purchase from April 25, 2025.

Freaky Tales Plot
Set in 1987 Oakland, Freaky Tales is a vibrant anthology film intertwining four dramatic stories that showcase the city’s tumultuous energy. Teenage punks stand their ground against neo-Nazi skinheads to defend the iconic 924 Gilman Street punk club, while Danger Zone, an ambitious female rap duo, battle for recognition in the male-dominated Bay Area hip-hop scene. Meanwhile, mob enforcer Clint (Pedro Pascal) attempts to leave his violent past behind, only to find himself pulled back by tragedy. The film also fantastically reimagines Sleepy Floyd’s legendary NBA performance, with all narratives narrated by Oakland.
