Gen V Season 2 Release Date
The wait is almost over. Gen V Season 2 drops on September 17, 2025, kicking off with a three-episode premiere on Amazon Prime Video. I only just realized last week how impatient I’ve been for this. Maybe it’s the summer heat, maybe it’s the burning desire for more blood-soaked campus drama. Prime Video (@PrimeVideo) announced on Twitter that Gen V Season 2 will premiere on September 17, teasing fans with the line “School’s back in session.”
That date has been burned into fans’ calendars for a while, especially after the official trailer landed and everyone started counting down the days. There’s something comfortable and slightly mischievous about knowing this show will be back just as the weather turns coziness meets carnage. The sophomore season picks up right after The Boys season 4’s seismic finale, so the stakes already feel dialed up.
Good to know: the first three episodes arrive together, and then we get a weekly drip-feed, one every Wednesday until October 22. I’m a weekly episode kind of person. Binges are fun, but there’s something about having those watercooler conversations, theorizing over cliffhangers, and (let’s be honest) doomscrolling for spoilers.
How Many Episodes Are in Gen V Season 2?
Season 2 packs eight episodes—starting with a triple launch, followed by five more, each dropping weekly. Simple, neat, and honestly, perfect for drawing out the tension. The episode titles are tightly under wraps right now, but the schedule isn’t: here’s an informal breakdown in case you want to plan your snacks and group chat drama:
-
Episodes 1–3: September 17, 2025 (take the day off if you can)
-
Episode 4: September 24
-
Episode 5: October 1
-
Episode 6: October 8
-
Episode 7: October 15
-
Finale (Episode 8): October 22
Eight weeks of chaos, betrayal, and, probably, at least one awkward super-power malfunction. If you ask me, eight episodes is a sweet spot, enough time for wild plot twists but not so long that the momentum fizzles. I still remember last season’s sixth episode, where I spilled coffee on myself from jumping at a jump-scare. Not proud, but that’s the kind of heart rate Spike we’re coming back for
Gen V Season 2 Cast Members
Nearly all your favorites are back with some new faces shaking things up. Jaz Sinclair returns as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway is back as Emma, Maddie Phillips as Cate, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan, Asa Germann as Sam, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity.
The biggest casting news is Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher, the new head honcho at Godolkin University. There’s a buzz about Ethan Slater’s role as Thomas Godolkin (the school's founder), which sounds fairly meta if you ask me.
A few cameos from The Boys will drop in Erin Moriarty’s Starlight and Chace Crawford’s The Deep, maybe even Nathan Mitchell’s Black Noir.
The show will also honor Chance Perdomo, who passed away in early 2024. His character, Andre, won’t be recast; instead, the story pivots to pay tribute to him. Word is his dad, Polarity, gets more emotional spotlight. For longtime followers, that’s going to hit hard—but honestly, it’s comforting to know the creators are choosing tribute over replacement.
New students (recurring stars) include Keeya King, Stephen Kalyn, Julia Knope, Stacey McGunnigle, Tait Fletcher, Wyatt Dorion, and Georgie Murphy. Looks like Godolkin is getting even weirder and wilder.
