Outside the hospital Owen and Teddy handle a massive bus crash where Teddy crawls under an unstable bus to control a patient’s bleeding. Inside the hospital there is also a missing child scare when a non verbal boy runs from the ambulance before Simone and Bryant manage to reach him.
By the end Bailey’s patient survives but the hour closes on heavy personal beats including Nora breaking up with Owen and Webber quietly telling Bailey that he has cancer. The final moments show Jo heading into emergency surgery with her life and the lives of the babies left on a cliffhanger setting up the stakes for episode 7.
