Gunna New Album The Last Wun Release Date

Music fans have something to talk about this week. Gunna’s dropping his newest project, “The Last Wun,” and the hype is real. The record hits everywhere on August 8, 2025. What makes this more than just another album drop is that Gunna’s calling this the final one under YSL Records—a label with a lot of drama lately, honestly. Gunna shared a post on Instagram featuring an original audio track, which quickly gained traction and received over 144,000 likes.

Across Instagram, Gunna posted the cover art, said it’s 25 tracks deep, and like, you can tell something’s shifting. Turbo—his regular producer—jumped in the comments with, “It’s time,” which has fans thinking Gunna’s about to show a different side or maybe close a chapter. As revealed by @DailyRapFacts on X, Gunna is set to drop his highly anticipated album The Last Wun on August 8th.

The Last Wun

“The Last Wun” feels heavy with meaning and not just because of its name. The album’s got some of his recent singles like “Won’t Stop” and “Him All Along,” but word is we’re getting a lot of new stuff, too. A teaser trailer on social shows Gunna looking back on his journey, showing a younger him talking about wanting “longevity in the game.”

Gunna Songs

If you’ve followed Gunna, you probably already have some bangers stuck in your head. “Drip Too Hard” with Lil Baby? Diamond certified, still gets spin everywhere. “FukUMean” blew up streaming last year. Recent songs running up streams include “GOT DAMN,” “HIM ALL ALONG,” and “Won’t Stop.” Gunna’s no stranger to the charts—he’s gotten nearly every album up to the top three on the Billboard 200, with “Wunna” and “DS4EVER” both going number one. The collabs always hit, too, from “Sold Out Dates” with Lil Baby to working on tracks with Young Thug, Future, Offset—you name it.

Who is Gunna?

Gunna( Sergio Giavanni Kitchens) was Born in College Park, Georgia, in 1993. He grew up on Atlanta’s south side, where the city’s trap and hip-hop scene kind of raised him. By his teens, he was recording music, ultimately getting in the room thanks to a mutual friend with Young Thug—his mentor, collaborator, and later, label boss at YSL Records.

What separates Gunna is that syrupy, melodic delivery. He doesn’t shout and flex hard—it's more laid back, almost like he’s rapping underwater but you catch every word. “Drip Season 3” in 2018 made him a star. After that, “Drip or Drown 2” put him on the Billboard 200; “Wunna” dropped in 2020 and landed at number one. He’s gone through a lot of public heat lately, mostly legal stuff after the YSL indictment—a wild time that’s got its own stories—but Gunna did his thing, kept his cool, dropped albums straight out of it.
