Chennai, Nov 14 (PTI) An Indian Air Force aircraft which was on a routine training mission crashed near Tambaram here on Friday afternoon, officials said.
The pilot ejected safely and no damage to civil property has been reported, the IAF said.
"An Indian Air Force PC-7 Mk II trainer aircraft met with an accident during a routine training mission and crashed at about 14.25 hr near Tambaram, Chennai, today.", the IAF said in a social media post.
"The pilot ejected safely, and no damage to civil property has been reported, " the IAF's Media Co-ordination Centre said later in the Friday.
Earlier, an official told PTI that the incident occurred around 2 pm.
"A Court of Inquiry has been constituted to ascertain the cause of accident," the IAF said.
