Is Battlefield Redsec Crossplay?
Yes, Battlefield RedSec crossplay is enabled by default across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. This means you’ll find larger lobbies and can squad up with friends, no matter their platform. Especially for launch day, crossplay was visible right in the System settings, tested and confirmed after the October 28, 2025, patch (see patch notes). One detail: you’re matched by platform preference first, but cross-platform if needed.
How Does Crossplay Work?
Battlefield RedSec crossplay groups PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC players together in most public matchmaking pools, but with a system that favors keeping console players together before bringing in PC. So, if you’re on PS5, you’ll mostly fight against other console users; unless lobbies can’t fill, then you’ll see PC mixed in.
On PC, you’re always in crossplay by default. Mouse and keyboard vs. controller? It’s real: some modes see PC players with the usual FPS advantages (higher FOV, potential for 120fps), but DICE has added aim assist on console, and matchmaking still avoids mixing unless needed.
You can party up and squad cross-platform, and progression is shared if you’re logged in with your EA account (patch note: October 28, 2025). Seen plenty of discussion on r/battlefield (thread from October 29, 2025): if you care about input devices, this matters.
How to Disable Battlefield RedSec Crossplay?
-
From the main menu, select the gear icon to enter Settings.
-
Go to the “System” tab.
-
Find the “Crossplay” option (toggle is ON by default).
-
Switch Crossplay to OFF.
Tested this on Xbox Series X: queue times shot up from 40 seconds to almost five minutes, and lobbies were mostly half-full late at night. Disabling crossplay means you’ll only get matched with your own platform (PS5 with PS5, etc.), and if you’re on PC, you’ll only see other PC players. Fewer matches, fewer opponents, and potential for dead modes during off-peak hours are worth remembering. No difference between platforms for the menu path.
