Is GeForce Now Down?
Right now, if you’re in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region, GeForce Now isn’t doing so hot. The official status page flat-out says: “Unresolved incident: Connection Errors in EMEA.” That’s code for “You’re not alone, it’s borked for a whole bunch of us.” So, if you’re furiously mashing F5 or yelling at your router, maybe pause for a second. It’s probably not your fault this time.
A friend of mine just texted: “Is your cloud gaming frozen too, or did my cat kill my Wi-Fi?” (True story: the cat once unplugged the router. Today, the router’s fine. The cloud’s not.) Basically, this happens — more than most of us like to admit. Sometimes, cloud gaming feels less like the future and more like sitting at an old bus stop wondering if the next ride’s coming at all. At least misery loves company: the current issue is confirmed, and yes, it’s ongoing.
The GeForce website has posted the service status. Have a look at the image below.

A lot of frustrated users on Reddit have been venting their frustrations, with many pointing out the delays in acknowledging the problem. One Reddit user even mentioned how it took almost an hour for GeForce NOW to officially admit there was an issue, which definitely left some people feeling disappointed.

How to Fix "There Was a Problem Connecting to GeForce Now"
Sometimes, you just can’t. Not when it’s on their end. But, if you’re feeling stubborn or maybe desperate for one more game, here’s what I usually try before giving up and doomscrolling Reddit instead:
Try the usual suspects:
- Restart your device.
- Check for app updates.
- Switch networks if you can (Wi-Fi to mobile, vice versa).
- Clear cache/cookies — especially on browser-based GFN.
Peek at the status page:
- If it says there’s an unresolved incident, like today, even reinstalling Windows 8 from a floppy disk won’t save you. Wait it out is the only “fix.”
Weirdly, sometimes using a VPN helps:
- It’s worked for me once — got hooked to a less-busy server, but it felt kind of like cheating.
Console yourself with snacks.
- Accept defeat; treat yourself. This step is non-negotiable.
If it turns out it actually isn’t an official outage, check your firewall, your NAT settings, your local network. I’ve spent entire afternoons buried in network config menus, shaking fists at “error code: 0x0000-whatever.” Sometimes, it’s a simple permissions thing. And yes, once, it was genuinely my neighbor’s leaf blower interfering with Wi-Fi (don’t ask).
GeForce Now Server Status Today
Today’s reality? The server status page is your lifeline, but it rarely sugarcoats things. As of now, most regions are fine — except for EMEA. If you spot “No incidents reported” for other regions, you’re probably safe. For EMEA gamers? Take a breath, don’t rage-uninstall. The team knows, and odds are they’re frantically working on a fix behind the scenes.
Region | Server Status |
---|---|
EMEA | Connection Errors |
North America | No incidents reported |
Asia-Pacific | No incidents reported |
Rest of World | No incidents reported |
