Is League of Legends Down?
It seems the Summoner’s Rift has gone quiet again. Reports started coming in earlier today that League of Legends servers were acting up matches freezing, login queues lagging, and players getting that dreaded “trying to reconnect” message mid‑fight. Not exactly the way most wanted to kick off their ranked grind.
Across X (formerly Twitter), frustrated gamers are flooding timelines with posts about connection issues. The popular outage tracker Downdetector has also shown a huge spike in user reports since around 12:34 AM EST, with players in multiple regions affected.
Even pages like Status Is Down and community accounts like ace (@astroz_x) have confirmed that Riot’s servers are likely being hit with a DDoS attack again. If that’s the case, Riot’s tech team probably has its hands full trying to get things stable.
The issues aren’t limited to one mode either. Players are struggling to log in, Lobbies are hanging, and some even reported getting disconnected right after champion select. It’s not pretty. While there’s been no official update from Riot Games yet, downtime like this usually doesn’t last forever.
For now, the best move is patience. Keep an eye on Downdetector’s live outage map or the official Riot Support channels for updates. Maybe take this as a sign to step away from the tilt, stretch a bit, or even try another game for the night. The Rift will be back soon enough, and when it does, at least there’ll be something to blame for the next loss that isn’t the support’s missed hook.
