Red Dead Redemption 2 Confirmed Coming to Android, Ps5, Netflix, Ios, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2

Yes, Red Dead Redemption is officially confirmed to be making its way to modern consoles, mobile devices, and even Netflix. It’s happening! On December 2, 2025, Rockstar will be dropping the iconic 2010 open-world western on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and compatible iOS and Android devices. And that’s not all Netflix subscribers will also be able to play it via their mobile games library at no extra cost. It’s a big deal, and here’s everything you need to know. On X, @RockstarGames announced that Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be available on Netflix, iOS, Android, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 starting Dec 2.

For fans of the original game, this isn’t just a simple port. Rockstar is bringing enhanced versions of both Red Dead Redemption and its zombie-themed expansion, Undead Nightmare. The new editions will feature a whole host of upgrades designed for today’s hardware. Expect smoother 60fps gameplay, enhanced image quality, and HDR support. If you’re lucky enough to have a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, you can even enjoy up to 4K resolution. For Switch 2 users, there’s some extra magic DLSS support, HDR, and the ability to use mouse controls, all running at 60fps for that buttery-smooth experience.

The upgrades don’t stop there. If you’ve already played the game on previous consoles like PS4, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox One, you’ll be able to upgrade for free to the corresponding next-gen version. That’s right, if you’ve got save data on your PS4 or Switch, you can carry it over and pick up where you left off. This cross-generation compatibility is a big win for longtime fans who don’t want to lose their progress.

The good news doesn’t end with console players. For the first time, Red Dead Redemption will be available on iOS and Android devices, with mobile-friendly controls making it easier to experience this epic Western adventure on the go. And, as mentioned, Netflix members can grab the mobile version as part of their subscription, adding a whole new dimension to gaming on the platform.

In terms of availability, the December 2 release date marks the day when these new versions will hit the market, ready to be downloaded and played. If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, you’ll also get access to the PS5 version through the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, which is another added bonus. On top of that, GTA+ members will get to enjoy these new versions as part of their subscription, which is pretty sweet if you’re already in that ecosystem.

It’s worth mentioning that the port is being developed in collaboration with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, bringing a fresh perspective to the game while staying true to the original. It’s clear that Rockstar is going all-in to ensure Red Dead Redemption gets the treatment it deserves, whether you're on a mobile device, the latest console, or even Netflix.
