Isaiah Jackson Injury Update
Isaiah Jackson picked up a new injury on Monday night. He left the Pacers game in Boston to be evaluated for a head injury and did not return. This is a fresh concern that came late in the game and the team quickly ruled him out for the rest of the night.
Right now his status is day to day while the medical staff finishes tests. The league injury log lists him as having his head evaluated which usually points to possible concussion checks. The Pacers have not yet announced a clear timetable for the next game against the Bucks.
Before this new issue he had been fully back from his torn right Achilles tendon that he suffered in early November last season. He spent the rest of that year in rehab then re signed with Indiana on a three year deal worth about twenty one million which showed strong faith in his recovery.
In the current season he has been a regular rotation center for the Pacers. Through twenty six games he is averaging around eight points six rebounds plus close to one block in about twenty minutes per night. He has flashed upside with games like twenty one points and ten rebounds against Milwaukee and eleven points with twelve boards against Washington.
Coaches and team reports have spoken about him as a key young big who is past the Achilles issue and trying to prove he can hold a steady role. His minutes have moved up and down at times but there was no ongoing physical limitation tied to the old leg injury.
The new head issue is separate from the Achilles story. There is no report of soreness or setback in the repaired tendon in the most recent updates. The concern now is how he clears the head evaluation process and whether any concussion is confirmed.
For today the short picture is this he is coming off a torn Achilles that is now fully rehabbed and he had been playing regular minutes all season. However he is now under evaluation for a head injury after leaving the Boston game so his status for the Bucks matchup and the coming week is uncertain until the Pacers give the next medical update.
