Kareem Hunt Injury Update
So, here’s the deal with Kareem Hunt: he’s finally seeing the field again for the Chiefs, and while the touches haven’t exactly piled up, there’s a bit of progress. Hunt got his first touches of the night on the Chiefs’ second offensive series, and later on, he managed his biggest gain so far, an 11-yard catch from Mahomes early in the second half. The thing is, Isaiah Pacheco still owns most of the backfield work right now. He’s the go-to guy, dominating the snaps, which leaves Hunt waiting on the sidelines more often than not. Still, you can tell the Chiefs are easing Hunt back, testing the waters after that calf injury that kept people wondering how ready he’d be.
Good news, though, he’s been a full participant in every practice leading up to the game, which is a great sign that he’s healthy and ready to roll against the Lions. It’s one of those situations where you can see flashes of the old spark, but the team’s clearly being cautious, letting him find his rhythm again.
If you’re watching, expecting a breakout right away, maybe lower the bar just a bit. But still, seeing Hunt back out there, snagging passes from Mahomes, that’s a good sight, feels like we might be just a few drives away from something bigger if he keeps trending like this.
