WWE’s social accounts and news sites confirmed the neck surgery right after it happened on July 18. 

As soon as he got the surgery, the news moved fast—WWE posted announcements on their official accounts, and wrestling journalists on X (Twitter) confirmed that the operation was successful.

On his own Instagram, his last post before surgery was a thank you to fans for their support and a simple shot of him out with his family, it was just before the operation.

A lot of wrestlers would play it safe or keep quiet, but Owens has talked openly about the frustration and fear this injury brought. In recent podcasts and statements, he admitted how everything caught him off guard and that his body “just gave up” suddenly. He even shared updates with fans on X (Twitter), letting them know he’s determined, but not making promises about a return yet.

Right now, he’s home and recovering, taking time off all live WWE shows. WWE isn’t rushing him. Owens is focusing on rehab, hoping his spinal cord heals, and only posting the occasional update thanking fans. For someone so central to WWE’s plans, his absence is obvious. The company has already adjusted major events, and rumors say he’ll miss next year’s WrestleMania too.
