He finished a full album earlier this year but threw it away. He felt it didn’t fit him anymore. Out of that scrapped album, he kept just one song called “I’m So In Love With You.” The rest is brand new. He made the final album over about three months, starting from scratch except for that single track.
Laroi says this is his most honest and personal work. He says the sound is more emotional. It’s got a sad and even nostalgic feel. He made the record with some of his usual collaborators, but focused more on what felt right for him now—not just what would become a hit.
He announced the album in November 2025, right after releasing a new single, “A Perfect World.” That track dropped the same day as the announcement. It’s got a pop and R&B blend. Another song, “A Cold Play,” came out ahead of the album too.
The album will have 15 tracks. Sony Music and Columbia Records are handling the release. The cover shows Laroi in a pool, shot in the South of France. He said that photo just “felt like the album”—simple, personal, and emotional.
Laroi apologized for making fans wait so long. He wanted to be sure the album was something he’d stand by. He said the older project felt confused and not ready. With “Before I Forget,” he knew exactly what he wanted to say and how it should feel.
This time, he took control. He shaped the sound and direction much faster. He wanted the music and lyrics to match what he’s really lived through in the last year—real heartbreak, new relationships, and finding his own voice.
Fans can expect more heartfelt lyrics and less shock or trend-chasing. “Before I Forget” arrives January 9, 2026, on all major platforms. Physical CDs, including some signed copies, are available through his official shop.
The single “A Perfect World” is already streaming. More promo singles will likely follow before the full album lands. For Kid Laroi, this release is more than just a new chapter—it’s a full reset. He made something he says is truly him, and wants fans to connect with that honesty.
