LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is officially set for release in 2026—yeah, no fancy quarter, no cryptic clues, just “2026” hanging out there, taunting every LEGO and Batman superfan to mark their calendars with a big bat-shaped sticker.
I was scrolling through Gamescom news half-asleep and, suddenly: boom, there it was—Gotham in bricks, next year on PS5, XboxPS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
About the price? Warner Bros. is keeping it tight about the exact cost, but insiders seem to think it’ll land in the $70–$80 (USD) zone for major consoles, which feels about right after watching AAA titles tiptoe up that price ladder the past few years. Wish I could say “Preorder now for a super-secret Batmobile skin!” but honestly—preorders aren’t open yet, and there’s no official tag on the box. One can hope for a Bat-discount, but don’t hold your breath.
The cast and character roster are trimmed and focused this time around. You get seven playable heroes: Batman (of course!), Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. No endless unlockable side-characters this round, just the Batfam and allies—each with their own gadgets and moves, which sounds fresh and a bit daring for a LEGO game. As for the villains, expect big names in Gotham’s underworld—Joker, Penguin, Bane—but don’t expect to roll the streets as them. You just get to punch, grapple, and glide across LEGO Gotham.
Now, on voice actors… Matt Berry has been confirmed as Bane (which is frankly inspired—I keep picturing him bemoaning the lack of tea in Arkham). Others haven’t fully leaked yet, but the developer teased a stacked lineup with familiar voices. I’m hoping Troy Baker sneaks in somewhere—his resume needs one more Batman credit.
