Lokah Chapter 2 Updates
Wayfarer Films has released a special video announcing Lokah Chapter 2, featuring Dulquer Salmaan as the shapeshifter/odiyan, Charlie, and Tovino Thomas as the goblin/chathan, Michael. Yes, our resident chathan-goblin is back, and this time, he’s bringing even more mischief and a whole lot more swagger to the table.
Check out the video where Tovino’s character, Michael, and Dulquer’s character, Charlie, catch up over a drink of toddy at the safehouse.
Lokah Chapter 2 Release Date
If you’re searching when Lokah Chapter 2 comes out, join the club. It’s the #1 trending question, and no, there’s no date locked in. The production is set to start end of 2025 or early 2026. All we’ve got for now is the announcement, a killer promo video, and about a trillion fan edits clogging my Instagram feed.
On the bright side, the delay gave us plenty of time to rewatch Chapter 1, which weirdly, never gets old. No word on OTT release either—Dulquer actually told fans to ignore fake news about streaming
Lokah Chapter 2 Cast
Tovino Thomas and Dulquer Salmaan are now the franchise’s dynamic duo, with Tovino’s Michael stepping into a lead role after a scene-stealing cameo in Chapter 1. Dulquer’s Charlie—the shapeshifter/odiyan—will play a much bigger part. And yes, Kalyani Priyadarshan, who absolutely owned it as Chandra (India's first female superhero in Malayalam cinema, by the way), is likely to make a comeback for at least a cameo or something juicy.
- Tovino Thomas as Michael (Chaathan)
- Dulquer Salmaan as Charlie (Odiyan)
- Kalyani Priyadarshan as Chandra
- Rumored add-ons: Expect some new villains, fresh faces, and maybe even a special appearance or two (if social media whispers are to be trusted).
Box Office Goals
Here’s a fact that kind of blows my mind: Lokah Chapter 1 raked in over ₹280 crores worldwide. That means Chapter 2 has to smash all sorts of records to outdo its own legacy. The first film turned every critic into a fan, owing to its blend of myth, masala, and genuinely smart writing. If anyone’s putting money on a big-screen blockbuster, this is it.
What’s Next for the Lokah Universe?
Here’s the kicker: Wayfarer Films isn’t stopping here. There are apparently four more Lokah titles in the works, meaning we’re just at the tip of some massive, interconnected saga. This is how big-screen superhero universes should expand—slowly, with local flavor and lots of in-jokes.
- Four more Lokah movies in development
- Returning director Dominic Arun for creative continuity
- Wayfarer Films holding the keys to the (mythical) castle
