Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Update
Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection just got its first big update on Steam. Other platforms get the same update soon. The patch targets several problems players noticed right after release. Developers say they plan more updates very soon to address feedback and missing features.
The update improves online audio. Players had trouble with lag during multiplayer fights. The patch changes the audio buffer for smoother online play. Sound issues in Mortal Kombat II on 32X are also fixed. Missing audio on that version is now restored.
Mortal Kombat 4 gets several cleanups. No detailed list for MK4 changes but reviewers mention better stability and polish. Genesis titles—older versions in the collection—are more stable. Some games crashed or froze before. This patch should help those problems.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 had a bug that made the game reset after using Scorpion’s fatality. The patch fixes that. It should not reboot now when players trigger that move.
The pause button works faster now. Before, players had to hold it longer to pause. The time to hold is cut in half. One-Button Fatalities are now in every arcade game. To use them, turn the setting on for each title. The overlay shows which button to press. This makes finishers simpler for anyone struggling with combos. Fans called out that previous games sold “easy fatalities” for real money. In this package, it’s included free.
Music Player got basic fixes for bugs and stutters. Controls should feel smoother. Legacy Kollection is also planning a new “Online Arcade” mode. This lets players set up public or private rooms and rotate games like sharing a real arcade. You can invite friends or let random players join. These features are not live yet but are coming in the next big updates.
Developers confirmed more updates are coming in a few days. These will fix other complaints including input lag and missing online features for lobbies. Many early buyers were unhappy with missing social functions. The team says work continues to improve the package.
The update is live for Steam now. Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation will get the same patch within a week. The Kollection is available digitally. Physical copies land in stores next month.
This update is a first step. More patches aim to fix core problems and bring new features players expect from a retro fighting compilation.
