Nico Collins Injury Update
Nico Collins, wide receiver for the Houston Texans, picked up an ankle injury. He showed up as a limited participant in practice this week. This ankle issue is new. Earlier in the season, he dealt with a concussion and a knee injury. He just returned from missing time in the concussion protocol. Now, the ankle injury is the main concern for the Texans as they prepare for their next game.
The Texans list him as limited on Monday’s injury report. That report came ahead of their Thursday night matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Collins put up good numbers in the last two games, even with backup quarterback Davis Mills filling in for C.J. Stroud, who remains out due to concussion. Over those two games, Collins tallied 16 catches for 228 yards and one touchdown on 25 targets.
Collins has battled multiple injuries this season. The concussion happened in Week 7 against Seattle. He missed Week 8, then returned and played well. After clearing concussion protocol, he caught nine passes for 92 yards and a touchdown against the Titans last Sunday. There was no sign of an ankle issue during that game.
Right now, there is no sign that the ankle injury is serious or will keep him out, but he must get through practice this week. He still has two more practice chances before the Bills game. The Texans have not officially listed him as out or doubtful, so there’s hope he plays. But his participation in practice will decide his final status.
The Texans' official injury report and practice updates are the best places to check for last-minute changes. As of now, Nico Collins remains limited but not ruled out for the next game.
