Overwatch Season 20 Release Date and Time
Blizzard has set the Season 20 start for Tuesday 9 December 2025 at 11 am Pacific Time. That timing lines up with the regular Overwatch 2 seasonal patch schedule and matches the current Battle Pass end date.

Season 20 also brings Hero 45 Vendetta a melee damage hero who launches the same day and is available in all modes from the start. The Winter Wonderland event runs from 9 December to 7 January alongside this season with extra limited time modes and rewards.
Overwatch 2 Season 20 Skins
Season 20 focuses heavily on winter themed and holiday cosmetics plus a new Mythic direction. Cassidy gets the Mythic Divine Desperado skin with multiple style options while Orisa receives the Mythic grade Capsule Cannon weapon skin that changes her primary gun visuals as you secure eliminations.
The Season 20 Battle Pass features several Legendary skins such as Yukizaru Genji Celestial Venture Colder 76 Frost Lich Reaper and Skadi Freja. Epic tier items include Cold Front Tracer Ice Crystal Symmetra and Winter Guardian Illari.
The Ultimate Battle Pass adds High Society Vendetta plus Reindeer Tracer as higher value cosmetics.
Winter Wonderland rewards add more themed skins including Jingle Tracer Krampus Junkrat Santa Claus Torbjorn Frozen Demon Junkrat and Frozen Mountaineer Cassidy unlocked through event progress tracks.
Shop bundles rotate extra outfits such as Cozy Ashe Wuyang Juno Bastion Mauga Borealis skins for Mercy Lifeweaver Echo Wuyang and Sojourn and Heist skins for Roadhog Reaper and Ashe during the season.
Overwatch Season 20 Roadmap Overview
Season 20 starts on 9 December 2025 with the Vendetta update and runs through early February 2026. The season mixes a new hero Stadium changes Winter Wonderland Mythic cosmetics an Avatar event and rotating shop collections.
The season theme centers on Vendetta as the first melee damage hero plus a strong winter holiday vibe across events and skins. Most big beats land in December with lighter updates later in the season.
New hero and Stadium updates
Vendetta unlocks on day one with Season 20 and is playable in all modes including Competitive from launch. Her kit focuses on sword combos gap closing moves and a frontal guard stance that rewards aggressive but smart play.
The Stadium mode gets a major refresh with new hero power sets for Doomfist and Wuyang plus a rework for Cassidy inside Stadium. A new China Control map also joins the Stadium rotation during this season.
Competitive and Challenger changes
Season 20 updates Competitive with a stronger Challenger Score system that pushes players toward Top 500. Win streaks and role based queue bonuses speed up progress across the ladder.
Top ranked players get more visible tags to help streamers and high level competitors stand out. Anti cheat updates now refund rank progress when cheaters are removed which should make losses to cheaters less punishing.
Mythic Skins and Battle Pass Pacing
Mythic content for Season 20 is split between a hero skin and a weapon skin on the Battle Pass. Divine Desperado Cassidy is the Mythic hero skin with multiple color ways and visual tiers while Capsule Cannon Orisa is a Mythic weapon skin that evolves with eliminations.
Across the season players climb the Battle Pass for five Legendary skins plus three Epic skins and other cosmetics. An Ultimate Battle Pass bundle adds extra coins tier skips High Society Vendetta and Reindeer Tracer on top of the regular track.
Avatar Event and Shop Rotations
Mid season the Avatar The Last Airbender collab comes back from 16 December to 29 December with returning skins for Mei Zenyatta Orisa Venture Genji and Kiriko. Players can clear challenges for items they missed the first time.
Throughout the season the in game shop rotates three themed bundles called Cozy Collection Borealis Collection and Heist Collection which cover heroes like Ashe Mercy Lifeweaver Echo Wuyang Sojourn Roadhog Reaper Juno Bastion and Mauga. Gifting for Battle Passes and packs through Battle.net is also live for the whole of Season 20.
