Palm Royale Season 2 Episode 3 Recap
Palm Royale season 2 episode 3 opens with a flashback in a Swiss convent where young Agnes and Norma train as nuns and Norma learns she will inherit her late father’s fortune which makes Agnes bitter and desperate. Pushed by a scheming Mother Superior who notes that no one in America knows what Norma looks like Agnes ends up shoving the real Norma down the stairs killing her and then assumes her identity to travel to the United States and live as Norma Dellacorte which explains the powerful Norma seen in Palm Beach decades later.
In the present Maxine is being forced out of the Dellacorte family through divorce while Evelyn faces a federal raid so Maxine uses her role as conservator to pull Evelyn’s money and jewels from the bank just before agents can seize them which keeps Evelyn financially afloat and deepens their alliance.
At the same time Maxine keeps dealing with a messy gag involving Douglas’s family ring that she accidentally swallowed while trying to remove it and Dinah keeps feeding her prunes while they gossip about how Norma might have killed Axel and possibly others which pushes Maxine toward viewing Norma as a serial killer who collects trophies from her victims.
Following advice that killers keep trinkets Maxine hunts for proof and eventually finds a hidden trophy room linked to Robert’s quarters filled with personal items like Axel’s cufflinks that clearly tie back to dead or missing people and she realises this is likely Norma’s stash that confirms her suspicions.
Instead of going straight to the FBI Maxine confronts Norma during a big Dellacorte event and calls her government contacts but Norma flips the situation by pulling a gun firing at the chandelier and screaming that Maxine is trying to kill her before escaping through a trapdoor which makes it sound to the listening agents like Maxine is the attacker not the victim.
The episode ends with Norma gone Maxine now framed as the one who tried to murder her and Maxine panicking both over the legal disaster and the fact that the swallowed engagement ring is finally about to come out as the consequences of her choices close in on every side.
