Pascal Siakam Injury Update: Why is Pascal Siakam Not Playing?

Pascal Siakam is not playing in tonight's November 9, 2025, game against the Golden State Warriors due to rest. The Indiana Pacers officially listed him as out for rest purposes on their injury report, marking his first absence of the 2025-26 season. This comes on the second night of a back-to-back, after he played against the Denver Nuggets on November 8.

On X(Twitter), @PacersPostUp noted that the Pacers have been giving their all, saying it was only a matter of time and added that Siakam clearly needs some rest.

On X(Twitter), @NBAOverseas reported that Pascal Siakam will sit out tonight’s game against GSW for rest.

Head coach Rick Carlisle explained the decision post-game, emphasizing the team's demanding early-season schedule with multiple games and significant travel. "We've had a very busy schedule, a lot of games, a lot of travel," Carlisle said. "The season is long. We have to be mindful of the big picture." This is Indiana's third back-to-back already, and Siakam has been carrying a heavy load as the Pacers' primary offensive option amid widespread injuries.

Siakam, the team's lone remaining All-Star with Tyrese Haliburton out for the season following a torn Achilles in the 2025 NBA Finals, has played every game until now. He's averaging around 24 points, 9-10 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, often logging 30+ minutes. His usage rate, isolation plays, and minutes are at career highs since joining Indiana, making rest a strategic move to prevent burnout or injury in a marathon 82-game season.

There's no reported injury for Siakam multiple updates confirm he's not dealing with any physical ailment right now. This is purely load management. He played limited but effective minutes against Denver, contributing 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists despite a slow start (1-of-10 shooting in the first half). Aaron Nesmith is also out with a right forearm contusion from a hard fall in that game, leaving the Pacers extremely shorthanded with nine players unavailable overall.
