Poker Face Season 2 Finale Ending Explained

In the finale, titled The End of the Road, Charlie (Natasha Lyonne) and her friend Alex (Patti Harrison) are on the run, trying to reach mob boss Beatrix Hasp (Rhea Perlman) before a feared assassin known as The Iguana can strike. The suspense escalates as FBI agent Luca (Simon Helberg) warns Charlie that the murder they’re investigating is a setup to lure The Iguana out, and that her own freedom is at risk if Hasp is killed.
When Charlie and Alex finally arrive at Hasp’s safehouse, they discover the guards dead and Beatrix already murdered. The shocking reveal: Alex is The Iguana, the master assassin who has been hiding in plain sight as Charlie’s ally all season.

The twist is especially significant because Alex is the first person ever shown to successfully lie to Charlie, outsmarting her unique ability to detect deception. Alex manages this by suppressing her instinct to lie, challenging both Charlie and the audience’s expectations.

In the climax, Alex/Iguana holds Charlie hostage to escape the FBI, but Charlie manages to survive by narrowly escaping from a car before it plunges off a cliff. With Beatrix dead and Alex’s true identity exposed, Charlie is left to hit the road once more, her sense of trust shaken and her journey taking on a more existential tone.

Poker Face Season 2 Cast in the Finale:

  • Natasha Lyonne as Charlie Cale

  • Patti Harrison as Alex/The Iguana

  • Rhea Perlman as Beatrix Hasp

  • Simon Helberg as FBI Agent Luca Clark

Additional appearances by Justin Theroux, Haley Joel Osment, and others.
