Realme GT 8 Pro Launch Date, Specs, Features, and Price

The Realme GT 8 Pro’s launch is set to light up October 2025 in China sooner than you’d expect, considering how the GT 7 series only feels like it dropped yesterday. For anyone monitoring India’s smartphone scene, word is you can expect the Indian launch sometime in December, very likely December 30, though nothing is tacked down with absolute certainty yet. That whole “coming soon” notification I signed up for? Still lurking in my inbox. But trust me, the anticipation is half the fun, especially if you love torturing yourself by endlessly comparing leaked features at 2 a.m.

If there’s ever been a Realme phone that makes spec hounds drool, this is the one. Front and center: the Realme GT 8 Pro rocks a 6.78-inch or maybe it’s 6.82, depending on which rumor mill you frequent, 2K AMOLED display with an ultra-slick 144 Hz refresh rate. “Crisp” doesn’t even cut it. This thing is brighter than my neighbor’s Diwali lights, with enough peak nits that you could probably use it to guide lost ships. Bezels? Practically invisible. It’s one of those screens you want to just... poke, swipe, and never put down, even when your thumb starts cramping. By the way, it’s also rated for HDR10+, which is code for “your Netflix binges will look fantastic during snack time."

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset is doing all the heavy lifting, think flagship, not budget, with performance built for gaming and multitasking galore. I remember accidentally launching twelve apps at once on my last Realme, and the poor thing barely survived. Here, though, the hardware is more than up to the challenge. You get up to 16GB of blazing LPDDR5X RAM (again, enough to run a small nation, if you ask me), and a base storage option clocking in at 512GB, paired with the latest fast UFS 4.1. Sorry, no memory card slot, so good luck hoarding your entire movie library.

The camera story is bonkers. Realme’s touting a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens (that’s a first for them), alongside an IMX966 main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Those numbers sound almost silly till you realize how much headroom it gives for zooming and cropping. Amateur photographers, Insta-reel pros, or even those who like to take an absurd number of photos of their cats (guilty), there’s a little something for all. And the front camera? A 50MP punch-hole number, so video calls and selfies won’t look like potato-cam relics anymore. I did giggle, though, imagining what kind of “every pore magnified” selfies this thing can snap.

Battery-wise, you’re not sparking up the charger every few hours. A reported 7,500-8,000 mAh battery is rumored (depends on whose leak you trust), with SuperVOOC 320W fast charging and up to 65W wireless. That’s so fast you could plug it in, start making ramen, and be at 80% before the water boils. I used to carry power banks everywhere, but if these numbers hold up, those days might be over. Water and dust protection? IP68/IP69, so dropping it in a puddle probably won’t ruin your ~12,000 rupees investment still wouldn’t recommend tossing it in the bath for science, though.

A couple of fun extras: there’s an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in-display (spooky fast), NFC, an IR blaster, yep, you can still prank your friends by hijacking their AC remote in 2025, and of course, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and all that good modern jazz. No 3.5mm headphone jack, because apparently that dream died ages ago, but at this point, most of us are resigned to it. At least there’s reverse wireless charging, so your earbuds (or, you know, someone else’s phone) can leech some juice in a pinch.

Price? Well, in India, estimates float around ₹59,990, and as always, there’ll be launch offers, EMI options, and plenty of memes about its price versus what you spent upgrading your last phone. Who’s this phone for? Power users mostly, but honestly, anyone who wants top visuals, performance, and cameras that make your friend’s iPhone feel a tad jealous should keep an eye out. Someone once told me, “Phones are just all the same now.” Clearly, they’ve never tried cramming 200 megapixels onto a night out selfie. If you’re looking for excitement in the ever-similar phone market, Realme’s giving us one more reason to pay attention, even if just to see what it tries next.
