Resident Evil Requiem is set for release on February 27, 2026. Pre orders are now open. You can get the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC through Steam, or the Epic Games Store.

There are two main editions to choose from. The Standard Edition costs about $70. You get the base game and a bonus costume for the main character, Grace. The Deluxe Edition is around $80. It gives you the base game and extras like five costumes, four weapon skins, two screen filters, two charms, a classic audio pack, and special files from 1998. The physical Deluxe Steelbook Edition is $90 at some stores.

If you get the game on Amazon, you get a double sided poster. GameStop adds a tote bag for in store pickup. Switch 2 owners can pick up a bundle with Requiem, Resident Evil 7, and Village for $90. Switch 2 is also getting a special Pro Controller themed for Resident Evil, out on launch day. Grace, the main hero, will be the first Resident Evil Amiibo—expected next summer.

All pre orders come with the early bonus costume “Apocalypse” for Grace. If you buy through Epic Games, you also unlock Resident Evil themed items in Fortnite, like the Grace outfit. More details will come later about the Fortnite content.

Now for a quick background. Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth game in the main Resident Evil series. It sticks to survival horror with a new story. You play as Grace Ashcroft, an FBI technical analyst. She investigates the Wrenwood Hotel, where strange deaths are happening from an unknown disease. This leads her deep into the old Resident Evil lore, taking her back to Raccoon City. The game uses a first person view like Resident Evil 7 and Village.

Expect dark rooms, creepy noises, and tense exploration. The story ties directly to past events like the Raccoon City outbreak and the evil Umbrella Corporation. Returning players will notice familiar vibes but with new characters and some old ones possibly showing up again.

Resident Evil Requiem aims for a classic horror feel. Pre order if you want to jump in on the first day. There are plenty of options for extras, no matter which system you use. The game will try to mix new scares with callbacks to long time fans.
