Sonic Racing Crossworlds Nights Release Date and Time
SEGA confirmed that Nights joins Sonic Racing CrossWorlds on 24 December 2025 as free downloadable content.
The rollout follows the usual pattern where content goes live on the Sonic Racing CrossWorlds servers globally then appears on each platform as soon as regional stores refresh.
In North America the Nights update is set for the afternoon and evening of Christmas Eve with marketing pointing to a 4 PM Pacific target which lines up with 7 PM Eastern.
In Europe players can expect the content to show up late evening on 24 December which is around 1 AM UTC on 25 December once conversion from Pacific time is applied.
For India and much of Asia this timing means Nights lands early on 25 December around 5 30 AM India Standard Time once store refresh and propagation are done.
So it feels like a Christmas morning drop in those regions rather than Christmas Eve.
What the Nights Update Adds?
The update adds Nights as a fully playable racer in Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. Nights comes with a themed vehicle called Dream Sleeper plus new emotes and sound effects that match the character.
All of this is free for anyone who already owns Sonic Racing CrossWorlds on PlayStation Xbox Switch PC or Switch 2.
You only need to install the latest patch or let the game update automatically then the Nights content appears in the character select screen once the release time passes in your region.
Platforms and Current State of the Game
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds first released on 25 September 2025 for PlayStation 5 PlayStation 4 Xbox Series X S Xbox One Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store.
A digital version for Switch 2 arrived on 3 December 2025 with an upgrade path for existing Switch owners that keeps all progress. A physical Switch 2 cartridge version is planned for early 2026 which will include the full base game on the card.
So by the time Nights arrives most active players on console and PC can access the character without any extra purchase.
Other Recent and Upcoming Characters
Nights is not the only new face in Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. The roster already includes guests like Hatsune Miku Ichiban from Like a Dragon and Joker from Persona 5 along with several Nickelodeon crossover racers.
Sega added Ichiban on 5 November 2025 and a SpongeBob pack with SpongeBob Patrick and a Bikini Bottom track on 19 November. The game also received a Minecraft pack in October with Steve Alex Creeper and a Minecraft themed track.
Looking ahead AiAi from Super Monkey Ball is scheduled for January 2026 then Tangle and Whisper from the Sonic comic line are planned for February 2026. There are also crossover packs coming with Pac Man in early 2026 and Mega Man content later in 2026.
How to prepare for the Nights Drop?
If you want to use Nights on day one make sure the base game is installed and that there is space for an update on your console or PC. Turn on automatic updates or plan to check your platform store around the expected release time in your region so the Nights patch can download as soon as it is live.
