Splitgate 2 XP Not Working, Check the Latest Updates from the Developer

Splitgate 2 XP Not Working

Splitgate 2, the sequel to the popular sci-fi shooter, is back online after facing serious problems during its beta launch. Although the game combines fast gunplay, slick movement, and clever portal mechanics, its release didn’t go as smoothly as fans hoped.

Splitgate 2 promised an exciting mix of gameplay inspired by classics like Halo 3 and Titanfall 2. Players were excited, but the beta was hit with major technical issues right after it went live. Cosmetic items were missing, servers struggled, and XP didn’t track properly. These bugs forced the developer, 1047 Games, to shut the game down soon after launching the beta.

1047 Games acted fast. The company’s CEO, Ian Proulx, shared an apology with the community and admitted things weren’t ready. He assured players that the team was working hard to fix the problems and bring Splitgate 2 back online.

"Obviously this is not the spot we thought we'd be in 24 hours after the launch of the beta," Ian Proulx said in a video message. "We thought we would be in great shape by now, and obviously that's not the case. We're really sorry. This is what we've been working on for years, what I've personally been working on since college 10 years ago. Like, this is—I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry.

"We're gonna do right by you. We are committed to making this the best game possible, getting these servers fixed as soon as possible—we are working around the clock, we were up late last night grinding, the team is—we're gonna get there."

After some repairs, 1047 brought the servers back for a few hours on May 24. Not everyone could get into matches, but the short test helped the developers see what needed more work. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a step in the right direction.

Splitgate 2 XP Servers are Open but with Limits

Now, Splitgate 2 is live again, but the servers are running with limits. To prevent more crashes, 1047 has added a login queue and capped how many players can join at once. The good news? Matches are running more smoothly, and the team is slowly raising that cap.

Players are finally able to jump into matches—though some are still facing issues. Bots fill in when real players drop out, and while most matches go smoothly, not everything is fixed yet. According to 1047, they’re now focused on solving three big problems:

  • Restoring missing purchases – All store items are safe, but they’re not yet visible.
  • Fixing XP and leveling – Progress is inconsistent and needs repair.
  • Boosting server capacity – More players should be able to play without problems soon.

What's Next for Splitgate 2?

The beta is expected to continue through the summer as 1047 Games fine-tunes everything. Despite the shaky start, things are looking better, and more players are getting a chance to try the game each day.

If you’re looking for other great multiplayer experiences while Splitgate 2 improves, there are plenty of top-tier PC games to check out.

Where to Play to Splitgate 2?

Splitgate 2 is now available to play in open beta on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the free-to-play shooter introduces three unique factions: Aero, Meridian, and Sabrask. Aero is ideal for fast-paced players who focus on racking up kills, Meridian is more defense-oriented with healing grenades and dome shields, and Sabrask specializes in controlling areas using Smart Walls and frag grenades. Players can still create entry and exit portals on surfaces to outmaneuver opponents or escape tricky situations. The open beta launches with nine maps, three game modes, a new Power Weapon, a beta battle pass, and “The Lab,” a mode where players can build their own custom maps.
