Star Wars Beyond Victory Release Date Confirmed: Mixed Reality Game Launches October 7, 2025

Star Wars Beyond Victory Release Date

The new era of Star Wars interactive adventures is set to begin on October 7, 2025, with the launch of Star Wars: Beyond Victory – A Mixed Reality Playset, coming exclusively to Meta Quest 3 & 3S headsets.

When I first heard the date, I had to double-check the calendar, one, because I can never keep the days straight, and two, because it’s not every day something as ambitious as this mixes the thrill of podracing with sandbox storytelling in a living room.

A New Chapter in Mixed Reality

Right from the start, Beyond Victory is declarative: this isn’t just another adaptation or half-hearted VR tie-in. It’s a title built entirely for Meta’s latest headsets, making it feel like Lucasfilm, ILM, and their crew are really leaning into the new tech.

The first time I watched the trailer, my brain did this little skip—podracing in the living room? Podracing, the feverish, dangerous sport from The Phantom Menace, brought to life with that same sense of velocity and noise, only now with the added thrill that you might knock over your coffee table mid-turn.

There’s also this palpable energy behind the project, which I vibe with—a kind of “why not really go for it?” mindset. I think most Star Wars fans have wished for that “step straight into the galaxy” moment since, well, the first time they ever heard a podracer engine.

Meet the Cast

One thing I definitely didn’t expect: the cast is a delightful mashup of legacy and new blood. Bobby Moynihan, yes, from SNL and somehow every animated show this side of 2010, joins Fin Argus, Lilimar Hernandez, and others to bring fresh energy and humor.

But it was that snippet about Lewis MacLeod and Greg Proops, both returning from The Phantom Menace (as the infamous Sebulba and the unforgettable podracing announcer Fode), that unlocked a core memory from every Star Wars rewatch party I’ve ever attended. Imagine those voices coming at you in mixed reality… There’s something comfortingly absurd about it.

And let’s be honest, the addition of Grakkus the Hutt is just the kind of deep-cut, comic-book reference that makes my nerdy heart do a happy little dance. It’s cool seeing Lucasfilm letting these slightly oddball, not-always-mainstream characters take the spotlight.

Makes the galaxy feel lived-in. Kind of like those oddball relatives at family holidays who end up being the most fun.

Three Modes, Three Moods: Adventure, Arcade, Playset

This is where Beyond Victory really got its hooks in me. You’ve got, essentially, three games in one, each with their own flavor:

  • Adventure Mode: This is the narrative core, placing players in the shoes (and, uh, extra arms) of Volo Bolus, an ambitious four-armed pilot mentored by Sebulba. I love games that actually embrace Star Wars’ bonkers side, and the idea of a pink-haired business partner and a Twi’lek mechanic just sells the sense that anything goes.

  • Arcade Mode: If you ever played with Micro Machines or Scalextric as a kid, get ready for some nostalgia. You control mini podraces from a top-down view, with multi-path tracks. I’m picturing real-life kitchen-floor championships, competitive ego and all.

  • Playset Mode: This might be my favorite—unlock digital action figures, plop them into your physical space, and stage your own weird, wonderful Star Wars scenes. As someone whose childhood bedroom floor was one long, ongoing Galactic Civil War, this just feels good. Give me action figures, space, and too much imagination, and suddenly it’s three hours later and I forgot about lunch.

Star Wars Immersion: Storytelling, Character Moments, and the Signature Weirdness

Jose Perez III, the director, says this whole thing is about celebrating imagination, storytelling, and “everything we love about Star Wars”.

And it does sound like they’re shooting for something a little different: not just high-speed chases or VR spectacle, but small, character-driven moments. A place where Sebulba isn’t just a one-note villain but a mentor, and where your own living room morphs into part of the Star Wars universe.

It’s been a long time since a game announcement made me both nostalgic and a little bit giddy at the possibilities, why not race pods around your cat, or have Grakkus the Hutt discussing business plans over your kitchen table? That mix of the epic and the absurd is pure Star Wars.

Star Wars Beyond Victory  Pricing

If you’re already itching to play, here’s the gritty detail: Star Wars: Beyond Victory costs $19.99. That seems pretty fair for the scope, at least based on what’s been shown. You can slap it on your Meta Quest wishlist right now (and, knowing myself, I probably should before I forget).

I’ve prepped by clearing a little extra obstacle-free floor space—after all, nothing says “immersion” quite like colliding with your laundry basket during a high-speed podrace. Or maybe that’s just me.
