Street Fighter Movie Release Date: Street Fighter Cast and Where to Watch?

Street Fighter Movie Release Date

The new Street Fighter movie is officially set to hit theaters on October 16, 2026, with a wide IMAX release planned. Seriously—mark your calendars, especially if you still have dusty memories of the old Jean-Claude Van Damme version.

DiscussingFilm (@DiscussingFilm) revealed on Twitter the first poster for the live-action Street Fighter movie, which is set to hit theaters on October 16, 2026.

This time, Capcom and Paramount are pulling out all the stops for what looks like the flashiest, most star-studded martial arts adventure since the heyday of late-night cable. The release date’s got me feeling a little giddy; there’s something about knowing there’s fresh nostalgia on deck, especially with a franchise that’s given us so many quarters' worth of bruised thumbs. I remember blowing so much pocket money at the old mall arcade that seeing Ryu and Ken throw down on a big screen again almost feels like justice.

Street Fighter Cast

The casting is deliciously wild. Noah Centineo steps into Ken Masters’ gi, while Andrew Koji gets the honor (and the shoulder pads) of playing Ryu. Jason Momoa, yes, Aquaman himself, will romp around as Blanka, and WWE’s own Roman Reigns transforms into Akuma.

This lineup just oozes, well, variety—sort of like a 2 AM roster pick with friends on the couch, everyone arguing over who gets Chun-Li (played this round by Callina Liang). Rounding out the cast: 50 Cent as Balrog, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Orville Peck as Vega, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, and a parade of other faces—some you’ll know, others that’ll have you Googling mid-movie (“wait, that’s really Eric André?”).

Honestly, if Street Fighter doesn’t win the unofficial “most bonkers action cast of 2026” trophy, I’ll be shocked. The studio claims this film will “respect the quarter-pumping, button-mashing spirit” of Capcom’s 1990s arcade classic, but with this crew, I’m expecting a few curveballs too. I once went to a midnight screening dressed as E. Honda (homemade sumo belt, don’t ask how it held up), so I can’t pretend I’m not a little hyped for this range of talent.

  • 50 Cent – Balrog

Where to Watch Street Fighter?

When October 16 rolls around, Street Fighter will debut only in theaters—Paramount’s distribution strategy pretty much guarantees a big, bold opening weekend. IMAX, surround sound, communal fist-pumping—it's all on tap.

Culture Crave (@CultureCrave) shared on Twitter the first poster for the live-action Street Fighter movie, which is scheduled to release in theaters on October 16, 2026.

Streaming platforms haven't grabbed the rights (yet), so if you want to see Blanka’s green muscles in full HD glory, you’ll have to join other fans in the actual cinema (maybe smuggle in some pocky and pretend you’re at an anime festival). No news on a post-theatrical streaming release, but these days, that usually means a few months’ wait before a digital drop. Sometimes, the wait is the sweet part, like those “new challenger” screens in the games.

Will it live up to the hype? Sometimes, just knowing two guys named Ryu and Ken are about to settle old scores all over again is good enough. See you at the midnight show—I'll be the guy judging every fireball's special effects, hoping for at least one sonic boom that rattles the popcorn.
