Su From So Plot
The story’s set in a sleepy coastal village tied up with legends from Someshwara, and what sets everything off is a crush. Yep, Ashoka falls (pretty hard), and before anyone can say “innocent infatuation,” gossip turns it into a case of supernatural possession. “He’s haunted by Sulochana’s ghost!” says one auntie, and the rumor snowballs. Honestly, it’s not your usual horror-comedy, it’s more like horror-madness spiked with everything from family feuds to sudden exorcisms.
Some sequences genuinely had me wheezing: a committee meeting to discuss ghosts turns into a snack-sharing contest, someone tries DIY exorcism with coconut water, and all the while Ashoka’s just trying not to look totally possessed. Bhaanu swings in halfway and, wow, the whole dynamic shifts. The film starts poking at all the “village innocence” tropes — domestic violence, intrusive neighbors, how superstition messes with privacy.
What I loved is how no character feels wasted. Even Chandra’s drama with his packet of chips somehow makes you laugh and quietly root for him. By the final act, it’s messy, weirdly touching, and somehow has space for a slow song in the rain (because, Karnataka).
