Terry McLaurin Injury Update
Terry McLaurin is not playing in Week 5. He hurt his right quad in Week 3 while diving for a long catch. He missed Week 4 against the Falcons too. The Commanders announced he is ruled out for Week 5 versus the Chargers. He did not practice this week. Reporters saw him working out with trainers and jogging, but he wasn’t close to full speed. He will stay at home and rehab instead of traveling with the team.
The Washington Commanders released their injury report, announcing that Terry McLaurin and others will not travel to Los Angeles and are ruled OUT for Sunday’s game.
His injury happened late in the third quarter in Las Vegas. A defender grabbed him at the one-yard line after a 56-yard gain. McLaurin has been a steady player, hardly ever missing games. This is now two in a row missed due to the quad injury. His streak of 72 straight starts ends here.
He has caught 10 passes for 149 yards so far this season. Washington is missing him and Noah Brown, another starting wideout who is also out. Their offense may struggle without them. The starting quarterback Jayden Daniels is healthy and expected to return, so maybe things improve a bit. But the team confirmed McLaurin will not play Sunday.
There is no official word yet on when McLaurin will return. The team says he is trending in the right direction, and he is rehabbing. But for now, he’s out for Week 5.
In short, Terry McLaurin will not play in Week 5. The Commanders need to rely on other receivers until he’s healthy.
