About The Chair Company
Format: Eight-episode half-hour comedy-thriller series
Creator/star: Tim Robinson (co-created by Zach Kanin), writer, executive producer, and lead actor
Premise: The series centers on William Ronald Trosper (Robinson), a mall developer at Fisher Rob navigating the aftermath of a humiliating workplace incident. What starts as one bad day quickly spirals into paranoia, corporate conspiracy, and surreal office politics. Robinson’s comedic style here leans absurd, mixing cringe-inducing interactions with slow-burning mystery and social awkwardness.
Style: Think “I Think You Should Leave” in both pacing and tone, vignettes stitched together by Robinson’s idiosyncratic delivery. More edge than Detroiters, less sketch-heavy than ITYSL, and with a narrative thread holding it together.
