This Android Smartphone has 94-Day Standby with 28,000mAh Power
In a world where smartphone users are constantly tethered to power banks and wall chargers, Avenir Telecom has introduced a device that could change the game. Revealed at the 2024 Mobile World Congress, the Energizer Hard Case P28K is a rugged Android phone that packs an astonishing 28,000mAh battery, offering an industry-leading 94 days of standby time.
A Powerhouse in Every Sense
The P28K isn't just a phone it’s practically a power bank with smartphone features. At 27.8 mm thick and weighing 570 grams, it’s more than three times the weight and thickness of a typical iPhone. This extra size is the trade-off for such a massive battery, which outdoes Avenir’s previous 18,000mAh phone by a significant margin.
The battery performance claims are nothing short of jaw-dropping:
- Standby time: 2,252 hours (about 94 days)
- Talk time: Up to 122 hours
- Regular use: Around one week on a single charge
Built for Tough Conditions
The P28K is designed for people who need a phone that can handle extreme environments. It features IP69 water and dust resistance, along with thick rubber bumpers to protect it from drops and shocks. This makes it ideal for workers in remote areas, travelers, or anyone tired of carrying multiple charging accessories.
Mid-Range Specs in a Bulky Body
While the battery is impressive, the rest of the phone’s features are basic. It includes:
- Display: 6.78-inch Full HD+ LCD
- Processor: MediaTek MT6789 (Helio G99), a mid-tier chip with 4G support
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: 256GB
- OS: Android 14
- Charging: 33W fast charging (with full charge in about 90 minutes)
Availability and Concerns
The phone is expected to launch in this year. However, its future remains uncertain, as Avenir Telecom has only mentioned the device as “pending Energizer final approval” on its website. With little official information and only a few public images, some tech watchers worry it might never make it to full production.
