Navratri 2025: When is Navratri in 2025? Navratri 2025 Colours With Date and Timing

When Is Navratri in 2025?

Navratri 2025 starts on September 22, yep, that’s a Monday, so prepare yourself for a sparkly start to the week and not a lazy one. There’s always confusion; some years, half my WhatsApp groups insist it’s the 21st, others the 22nd. But according to most major Panchangs (and just about every aunty with an opinion), Ghatasthapana and Day 1 land solidly on September 22.

The nine days (and, let’s be honest, even the prep days before) are a swirl of excitement, whether you're fasting devoutly or just eyeing the dandiya season outfits. The festival rolls right through to October 1, with Vijayadashami (Dussehra) on October 2 as the grand wrap-up.

Navratri 2025 Colors with Date and Time

Colors aren’t just for fashion they’re for vibes, for rituals, for that subtle feeling that something’s in the air. Every year my friends and I bet on which day will get “Peacock Green” always a crowd-pleaser. For 2025, here’s how the rainbow lands, a little less formal than your average table, but with date-by-date breakdowns:

September 22 (Monday): White

  • Meaning: Purity, innocence, maybe a fresh start if last year’s resolutions didn’t stick.

  • Ghatasthapana: Muhurat 6:27 AM to 8:16 AM. Super early, Ghatasthapana Abhijit: 12:07 PM – 12:55 PMbut everyone’s motivated on Day 1.

September 23 (Tuesday): Red

  • The colour of passion offer that chunri, channel that extra holiday energy.

  • Early risers: Brahma Muhurta is from 4:35 to 5:22 AM. Abhijit Muhurat: 11:49 AM – 12:37 PM.

September 24 (Wednesday): Royal Blue

  • Richness and tranquility. I always feel like I should actually, you know, meditate when Royal Blue is the day’s theme.

  • Brahma Muhurta: 4:35–5:23 AM. Godhuli Muhurat (for evening vibes): 6:15–6:39 PM.

September 25 (Thursday): Yellow

  • Joyful, bright, just that perfect shade for family selfies, especially with little cousins racing around in yellow kurtas.

  • Vinayaka Chaturthi: 11:18 AM to 1:42 PM.

September 26 (Friday): Green

  • Growth, new beginnings. The kind of day that makes you want to rearrange your house plants.

  • Panchami Tithi: Begins 9:33 AM, ends 12:03 PM on Sep 27.

September 27 (Saturday): Grey

  • Calm, balance, a chance for subtlety if you’re feeling dandiya-ed out.

  • Brahma Muhurta: 4:36–5:24 AM. Abhijit Muhurat: 11:48 AM – 12:36 PM.

September 28 (Sunday): Orange

  • Energy, enthusiasm. Children somehow seem extra hyper on Orange day could just be the colour talking.

  • Brahma Muhurta: 4:36–5:24 AM. Abhijit Muhurat: 11:48 AM – 12:35 PM.

September 29 (Monday): Peacock Green

  • Uniqueness and a hint of drama. Every year, there’s at least one sibling who complains their peacock green looks more blue. Family tradition, right?

  • Mula Nakshatra: Begins 3:55 AM (Sep 29), ends 6:17 AM (Sep 30).

September 30 (Tuesday): Pink

  • Love, harmony, a guaranteed Instagram hit.

  • Durgashtami (Mahagauri Puja): Ashtami Tithi starts 4:31 PM (Sep 29), ends 6:06 PM (Sep 30).

October 1 (Wednesday): No Official Color But It’s Navami

  • Maha Navami, sometimes the air itself feels golden.

  • Puja: Ayudha Puja, Navami Homa, and Parana (fast-breaking) are all celebrated here.

  • Dashami Tithi for Dussehra: starts 7:01 PM (Oct 1), ends 7:11 PM (Oct 2).

October 2 (Thursday): Dussehra

  • The big finale! Durga Visarjan, Ravan Dahan go as bright as you want.

Preparing for Navratri in 2025

Start by checking your wardrobe for plenty of color options, you don’t want to be the person wearing last Navratri’s yellow with this year’s green. If you’re fasting, stock your kitchen with fruits, makhana, and all those weird snacks that only ever get eaten this time of year. I always keep extra sandalwood paste and diyas on hand; somehow, we always run out by Day 6.

Remember, it’s not about perfection. In my house, someone always mixes up the color schedule by at least Day 4. But that’s the point, the festival is as much about togetherness, laughter at our own mistakes, and midnight chai after long pujas, as it is about rituals and timing.
