Strictly Come Dancing Semi-Final Recap (Week 12)
In the penultimate live show, the four remaining couples each performed two dances, with the bottom two facing a dance-off to decide who would be eliminated.
Leaderboard & Scores
The semi-final leaderboard was as follows:
Karen Carney & Carlos Gu – 78 points (39 + 39)
They topped the leaderboard with a powerful waltz to Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time” and a strong second dance, earning emotional praise from the judges and hosts.
Amber Davies & Nikita Kuzmin – 77 points (37 + 40)
Amber and Nikita scored a perfect 40 for their Couple’s Choice routine to RAYE’s “Fly Me to the Moon”, their third consecutive perfect score, and a solid 37 for their tango.
George Clarke & Alexis Warr – 72 points (35 + 37)
George and Alexis delivered a strong performance, with judges highlighting how much they’ve improved and calling one routine “the best of you”.
Balvinder Sopal & Julian Caillon – 70 points (35 + 35)
Balvinder, known for her role in EastEnders, and Julian scored 35 for both their salsa (to Gloria Estefan’s “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You / Get On Your Feet”) and their waltz (to Michael Bublé’s “At This Moment”).

Dance-Off & Elimination
After the leaderboard, Balvinder & Julian and Amber & Nikita were in the bottom two and faced a dance-off. Both couples repeated one of their semi-final routines, and the judges voted unanimously to save Amber & Nikita, sending Balvinder home.
Balvinder, who had survived a record five previous dance-offs this series, left the competition with a heartfelt speech, calling 2025 her “Yes Year” and thanking her family and Julian for their support. Her exit confirmed the final three couples for the Grand Final.
What’s Next: The Grand Final
The Strictly Come Dancing 2025 Grand Final will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7 pm on Saturday, 20 December 2025. Each finalist couple will perform three routines: a showdance, a repeat of their favourite dance from the series, and a third dance of their choice, before the winner is crowned with the Glitterball Trophy.
