Why Did Cody Johnson Cancel his Concert? Cody Johnson Cancels Concerts After Eardrum Rupture

Why Did Cody Johnson Cancel his Concert?

Cody Johnson canceled his concert because he ruptured his eardrum. He shared this news with fans on October 7, 2025. Cody had been sick with a serious respiratory and sinus infection. While performing and recovering from that, his eardrum burst.

He needs immediate surgery. Doctors told him the injury is severe and singing during recovery is not possible. If Cody skips the surgery, he risks longer damage. The rest and recovery will take weeks. So he won’t be able to perform the rest of the tour or sing for a while.

He posted a message saying he made this decision with a heavy heart. He also thanked his fans for supporting him. Cody said his passion is singing, and he hopes to return once he heals. Concertgoers will get details from ticket vendors about refunds or other options.

The canceled shows were supposed to run through December. They included big venues and festivals in Pittsburgh, Birmingham, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Louisiana. Cody was also up for awards at the CMA ceremony in November, but it is not clear if he’ll attend.

His team said watch for updates if you bought tickets. Cody closed his announcement saying he’s hoping for a full recovery and wants to get back to what he loves doing: playing live music for his fans
