Will Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Be on Game Pass?
Yes, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will drop day one on Game Pass, and honestly, that’s a bit wild given how the franchise used to be the games you always shelled out full price for. If you told my 2012 self he’d be playing a brand-new Black Ops with his Game Pass subscription? He’d probably just laugh and buy some Doritos. But it’s the future now! Official updates from Xbox and Activision confirm that Black Ops 7 launches worldwide on November 14, 2025, with full support for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, whether you’re on console or PC.
Xbox (@Xbox) announced on Twitter that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is coming, inviting players to “master fear itself.” The game will be available with Xbox Play Anywhere and included on day one with Game Pass.
So if you’ve already got a Game Pass sub, you’re good to go, no $70 hit this fall, unless you’re feeling extra and want a special edition or just want to own it the “old-fashioned” way. I guess this mostly comes down to how you play.
Personally, Game Pass changed how I think about trying new games before; every November was a decision: “Do I care enough about Call of Duty this year to pay up?” Now? It’s more like, “Guess I’ll try it, maybe squad up with the same guys who still roast me for my 2009 aim.”
I do think it’s cool that you even get Early Access to the Open Beta if you’re a Game Pass Ultimate user, so you don’t miss out on the usual pre-launch hype. The commitment to supporting both console and PC is also huge if you bounce between screens, the Play Anywhere feature is just… chef’s kiss. Just to be clear, this was officially announced on Xbox’s site and reinforced by Activision and Treyarch’s pages; no rumor mill, no “trusted leaker” required this time. For anyone still holding out hope for PlayStation and Steam users: Black Ops 7 will be available there too, but if you want it “included” in a service, Game Pass is the ticket.
CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) reported on Twitter that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch on Friday, November 14. The game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Game Pass.
Feels like the Microsoft-Activision deal is changing the wild west of game subscriptions.
